Stactray

Company

Two founders, one deliberate thing.

Stactray was incorporated in Pune in 2024 to build one capability and point it at several different asset classes. It is held deliberately small, and what it accumulates is infrastructure rather than headcount.

What we noticed

India’s real economy runs on assertions nobody can independently check — who holds title, whether a counterparty will pay, where a physical good came from, what the true state of a project is. Every one of those is priced as risk, and that risk is paid in discount, in delay, and in capital that never arrives.

What made that worth building a company around was noticing that it is the same problem each time. The land, the invoice, the stone and the project look like four industries and four sets of software. Underneath they are one question asked in four places: can this claim be checked by somebody who does not trust the person making it.

The software already deployed against each of them stores the claim rather than testing it. That is not a failure of those systems. They were designed when testing a claim cost more than accepting it, and that stopped being true recently enough that most of the industry has not finished noticing.

So the decision was to build the checking layer once, properly, and put a different surface on it for each place it hurts — rather than to build one product, sell it hard, and discover the second market needed the same foundation rebuilt.

The people

Two people are accountable for what this group signs and for what it publishes. Both are named on the Governance page with their roles, because a company that is hard to attribute is a company nobody should extend credit to.

  • Sandeep Musti Chief Executive Officer

Signatory for the company. Accountable for what Stactray commits to and for the obligations its platforms take on.

  • Sunil Musti Co-Founder, Strategy and Product

Holds the portfolio instrument and the operating method. Accountable for what gets built, in what order, and for what gets stopped.

Roles rather than histories. What either of us did before this company is not evidence about this company, and a founder page that leans on it is answering a question the reader did not ask.

What the group accumulates

A group of this size is only worth the things that survive any one of its platforms. Four of those are being built deliberately, and each compounds across the portfolio rather than inside one product.

  • InfrastructureComponents specified once behind a boundary and consumed by more than one platform — so the cost of the next surface falls rather than repeats.
  • A methodA written operating discipline that opens a build with a contract and closes it with an independent gate. Set out in full on How we build.
  • A registryThe record of what has been verified, asset by asset, which is the one asset in this business that gets more valuable the longer it is kept.
  • Verification railsThe shared means of establishing that a claim holds and letting a third party check it later without trusting us. It is the reason the portfolio is one portfolio.

How the group is put together

Stactray holds the platforms and does not trade under their names. What it sells at group level is the engineering: one bench, one method, and infrastructure built once and consumed by all of them. Each platform holds its own contracts, carries its own liabilities and answers for itself commercially — the arrangement is set out on the Portfolio page, where each is described by what it does and where it sits in the chain.

The entity, its officers, its data posture and the regimes its platforms operate under are stated on the Governance page, in enough detail to be checked against the public register rather than taken on trust.
